What to do in Bamberg with kids
The Hain (Luitpoldhain) is Bamberg's large city park on the Regnitz – with playgrounds, wide lawns, a small animal enclosure and the Hainbad open-air pool in summer. A classic for a relaxed family day in the green, just minutes from the centre.
At Little Venice you can take gondola rides on the Regnitz – a little adventure for kids right in the city. On rainy days, museums are a good option, such as the Natural History Museum with its historic bird hall. And of course the car-free old town with ice-cream parlours and bakeries is lovely to stroll.

Practical tips for getting there
Bamberg is an ICE stop – arriving by train is often more relaxed with kids than by car. Note: the old town has some cobblestones, so a sturdy stroller or a carrier helps. If you come by car, use a car park at the edge of the old town or the underground garage of our apartment with a parking space.
